The first tour will take a wandering route through the rural Oley Valley and into the hallowed ground of the American Revolution to see enclaves of craftsmanship historic and modern. Participants will get to witness the exciting operation of a flutter-wheel sawmill, explore the tranquil studio of Wharton Esherick, Dean of American Craftsmen, and experience the creation of works of art at a foundry for historic reproduction hardware. Lunch will be a 1 hour stop in historic Phoenixville, where participants may enjoy a respite of their choosing.
