Bring IPTW to Your Community: Host Site Proposals Now Open for 2027/2028The Preservation Trades Network is seeking proposals from organizations, communities, and preservation advocates interested in hosting the 2027/2028 International Preservation Trades Workshop (IPTW). For nearly three decades, IPTW has brought together preservation craftspeople, contractors, educators, students, volunteers, and preservation enthusiasts to share skills, build connections, and help save historic places. More than just a conference, IPTW is a hands-on celebration of traditional trades and the people who keep them alive. Every successful IPTW begins with a local champion. Whether you represent a historic site, nonprofit organization, municipality, educational institution, or preservation group, hosting IPTW offers a unique opportunity to showcase your community, advance preservation goals, and welcome hundreds of preservation-minded visitors from across North America and beyond. We're looking for host sites that can offer:
PTN is an all-volunteer organization. The future of IPTW depends on members and preservation advocates stepping forward to help bring the workshop to new communities and new historic places. If you've ever attended an IPTW and thought, "We could do this here," now is the time to start the conversation. Hosting IPTW leaves a lasting impact—not only on the historic resources that benefit from the work completed during the event, but also on the local preservation community that forms around it. The deadline for 2027 host site proposals is approaching, and we encourage interested organizations to reach out early with questions. Help shape the future of preservation trades education and bring the spirit of IPTW to your community. Interested in hosting? Complete the form at the link below. |
